POSITION: Project Planner

DIVISION: Westervelt Ecological Services

LOCATION: Sacramento, CA

POSITION PROFILE:

The purpose of this position is to help develop mitigation banking projects in the Western Region.  It will require the ability to work individually to complete entitlement documents and manage mitigation and conservation bank projects, as well as to coordinate closely with Mitigation Banking Entitlement Coordinator to assist with regional entitlement objectives.  Will be responsible for the planning, execution and tracking of new wetlands/conservation mitigation project approvals and will assist with regional compliance tracking of approved mitigation projects.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
  1. Bachelor's degree in a natural sciences field.
  2. Three to four years related work experience. 
  3. Demonstrated effectiveness in working with regulatory processes and personnel.
  4. Experience in CEQA, NEPA and Section 404 permitting.
  5. Experience in mitigation planning or design and wetland delineation.
  6. Knowledge of California biological habitats, species and general conservation biology/ecology.

The qualifications of individuals applying for this position will be compared to the above criteria. Only those having qualifications that meet the selection criteria may be interviewed for the position.
