FOREST ONE MERGES, CHANGING NAME TO LANWORTH

Itasca, Ill. – Forest One, a leading provider of land and real estate business intelligence services, has merged with Tuscaloosa, Ala., based The Westervelt Company, and will soon begin changing its name to “Lanworth, Inc.”
Lanworth will continue to operate as an independent company, and will maintain its current contracts and obligations with its customers.
“The Westervelt Company is a privately owned land resource organization, and an existing Forest One customer, and this merger will allow us to continue expansion of our technology services and platforms,” said Shailu Verma, Forest One president.
Forest One, founded in 2000 by Clark Love and Shailu Verma, has grown to serve Fortune 500 companies, state and federal agencies in addition to local and county governments in providing Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems, Economic Modeling and Software Development services.
Love will continue as Vice President, Strategy and Sales, and Verma will continue as Vice President, Operations and Sales.
“We will continue developing products and services for the forest products segment, where we have deep technology and cultural roots. However, our services serve customers outside the forest industry – such as government, agriculture, real estate, electricity and gas, and transportation industries. We wanted to have a name which gives us the appeal to reach a broader land-based clientele.” Love said.
Lanworth, Inc., will continue offering services to the forest products, land management, agriculture, utility and real estate segments. The merger will enable Lanworth in developing new products and services for both existing and new clients.  Lanworth’s key areas for growth include new forestry and supply chain management technologies, proprietary landownership and real estate data, higher and better use (HBU) analytical services, and crop production forecasting.
The Westervelt Company, a privately held organization of land stewards owns and manages 500,000 acres of certified sustainable Southern yellow pine forests in the Southeast United States.  Existing business units include natural resources, lumber production, real estate, outdoor recreation, and mitigation banking.

“Lanworth adds value to our portfolio by continuing to service its existing customer base, and by expanding its offerings to other constituents,” said Alicia Cramer, Vice President, Business Development, for The Westervelt Company.
“We’re very excited to have Lanworth on board and look forward to our mutual growth,” she said.
